In her three years of service at Mahidol University International College (MUIC), Analiza Liezl Perez-Amurao has shown exemplary acts for which she has earned not only the respect of her co-workers, but also of her superiors. After serving for a year as a lecturer, she was chosen as the 2009 Teacher of the Year for her division. Her immediate superior cited “her knowledge of curriculum and teaching methodology, and her proven research capacity” as one main reason for the award. Shortly after, she was promoted to being a Program Coordinator. She was the only female and Asian faculty to have held such a post so far. Along the same line of work, the PC Program Director mentioned her as “Instrumental in helping . . .design and implement the new student-centered curriculum at the Pre-College. Without her expertise and leadership, this job would not have been completed at the desired level of quality.”
Recently, an article she wrote discussing the curriculum changes in her division placed 5th in the 2010 SEAMEO-Australia Press Awards. Complying with the university’s research requirements, she also recently published her paper in the International Journal of Research and Review, an internationally refereed journal. In recognition of her two major contributions to the university, MUIC gave her achievement awards during the MUIC Achievements 2011 held last March 30. In 2010, she represented MUIC in an international conference in Hong Kong where she talked about her paper.
